Catalogs

Use catalogs to share templates and reusable content between tenants or projects.

Catalogs

Use a catalog when a group of templates and reusable content should be shared, installed, or upgraded together.

When to use a catalog

Use catalogs for:

  • Shared starter templates.
  • Standard letters used by multiple teams.
  • Demo or training content.
  • Reusable stencils, themes, fonts, images, attributes, and code lists.
  • Project templates that need a controlled release.

Create and release shared content

  1. Create or open the catalog in the source tenant.
  2. Add the templates and reusable content that belong together.
  3. Check that examples and previews still work.
  4. Release the catalog.
  5. Install or upgrade the catalog in the target tenant.

Installed catalogs

Installed catalog content is normally read-only for the receiving tenant. If a team needs to change shared content, update it in the source catalog and release a new version.

Upgrade safely

Preview catalog upgrades before applying them. Check which templates and reusable parts change, then test important generated documents after the upgrade.
