Generate Documents

Generate a document when you want to turn approved template content and case data into a PDF.

Preview while editing

Use preview from the editor to check wording, layout, page breaks, optional text, tables, and repeated sections. Preview is for authors; it is not the production document.

Generate in production

Use a published and deployed template version for production documents. A connected system, such as Valtimo, sends the case information and receives the generated PDF when Epistola finishes.

Generate many documents

Use batch generation when the same template must be generated for many records. Review failed items separately; one failed item should not block every other document.

Before generating

Check that:

The template is published.
The right version is deployed to the right environment.
The connected system sends all required information.
The selected variant is correct.
The filename and storage destination are clear.

Use the generation history to see recent jobs, failed jobs, frequently used templates, and documents that need troubleshooting.
