Let users preview documents before generation and correct input when generation fails.

Preview and retry

Use preview and retry when users need to check or correct a document during a case.

Add preview

  1. Add a preview area to the task where the user reviews the case information.
  2. Select the document that should be previewed.
  3. Choose which task fields may influence the preview.
  4. Test with realistic cases.

Add retry

  1. Add a retry task after the failure path.
  2. Show the error in plain language.
  3. Ask only for fields the user can correct.
  4. Regenerate the document after correction.
  5. Route repeated failures to manual review.

Good practice

Preview should help users make a decision. It should not become a full document editor inside Valtimo.
